IFAW
IFAW works to protect animals and their environments worldwide. This audiovisual collection dates back to the 1970s, and details every aspect of IFAW’s work:
  • Commercial Exploitation and Trade of the Canadian seal hunt and commercial whaling
  • Animals in Crisis and Distress emergency relief after natural and man-made disasters;
  • Rescue and rehabilitation of farmed, orphaned, abandoned and zoo animals
  • Habitats; nature reserves, ocean sanctuaries and national parks

The collection comprises footage of large-scale projects; the rescue and rehabilitation of thousands of seabirds after an oil spill, or the fight for the conservation of whales by preventing the construction of a salt factory in a whale nursery – and the success stories of individual animals, such as Commando the chimp, orphaned for bushmeat, and Kapela the Baby Rhino.

Footage shot on Betacam SP, Digital Betacam, Mini DV.
